Check out some of my latest paintings over the last few months. I’ve been working on a series from vintage photos of family and friends along with a few photos from the past year.
Summer of 2022 Portraits
It was a hot one and managed to spend the height of the hotter weekend days inside painting trying different techniques on this series of portraits.
Unsung Super Heroes!
Second Painting from Sayulita, Mexico.
I really liked the vibrant colors of this one. It’s a lot of detail for me and my attention span so it feels a little daunting in the beginning.
First Painting from Sayulita
I took a few pictures from a trip to Mexico and wanted to paint them to capture a little of the town’s vibe. Hoping to do 3 paintings from my visit.
Fifth in the New York Series… and maybe the last? I really liked painting them so may come back for a visit.
Do
NYC Life Series
These were painted from scenes at Washington Square Park in New York. People enjoying the weather on a sunny day in October. There are 4 here but looking to continue the series at least for a couple more paintings.
July Painting!
I tried something a little different here with starting with a black outline. I think I was told once that you should never use black but went with it none-the-less. I liked how the figure turned out.
June Paintings…
Trying to keep up a regular routine on painting and sketching. It’s slipped a little as summer began but East Austin Studio Tour helps establish a goal.
May Figure Paintings through Atelier Dojo in Austin
Tried to focus a little more on the figures this month instead of just the face which I found added a layer of challenge in getting everything positioned and composed.
